WEG, from the beginning up today. Get to know our history, know more about our evolution and achievements.
In April 1961 the idea of creating a company to make electric motors is conceived. On September 16, Werner Ricardo Voigt, Eggon João da Silva and Geraldo Werninghaus founded WEG. Initial Capital Stock: Cr$ 3,600.00 (three thousand and six hundred cruzeiros).
WEG buys the piece of land and begins building the Manufacturing Plant I. In the same year, it starts making motors in the plant.
1ª Convenção Nacional de Vendas e Fundação da Associação Recreativa da WEG (ARWEG).
Criada a primeira CIPA.
Criação do CENTROWEG. Na época, a região não oferecia treinamento técnico e os fundadores criaram o CENTROWEG para capacitar os colaboradores. A escola insere adolescentes no mundo da tecnologia, revelando e incentivando grandes talentos.
Criada a política de qualidade WEG e produção do 1º motor conforme Normas ABNT e IEC. A preocupação com a qualidade está no DNA da WEG. Desde a fundação, a empresa preocupa-se em atender todas as normas exigidas.
Início das exportações para a Guatemala, Uruguai, Paraguai Equador e Bolívia.

Acquisition of Stardur Tintas Especiais Ltda., a company of industrial and automotive refinish coatings located in the city of Indaiatuba (State of São Paulo).
First supply in wind power generation. Equipment with capacity of 90 MW was installed on a wind farm located in the Northeast of Brazil.

Anúncio de construção de uma nova fábrica em Santo Tirso, Portugal. A companhia pretende investir 23,5 milhões de euros para edificar 22.600 m² no mesmo terreno onde a WEG já possui uma operação de 16.300 m², dedicada à fabricação de motores industriais de baixa tensão.
Ampliará a produção de motores elétricos de grande porte e transferir sua fábrica localizada em Maia para Santo Tirso, centralizando todas as operações no mesmo lugar. A nova fábrica em Santo Tirso deve entrar em operação no primeiro trimestre 2024 e gerar cerca de 100 novos empregos.

1. Reduzir 52%* das emissões** até 2030
2. Atingir Net-Zero (emissões** líquidas neutras) até 2050
*Média global das operações WEG. Metas por operação e país seguem a NDC (Contribuição Nacionalmente Determinada) do país ou 52%, o que for maior. **Emissões Globais WEG do Escopo 1 (combustíveis fósseis) e 2 (energia não renovável), ano base 2021.
Propósito: Desenvolver tecnologias e soluções para contribuir na construção de um mundo mais eficiente e sustentável.
