Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I interpret the event traffic light?

When setting the alarm criteria levels, consider the application where the WEG Motor Scan is installed, and set appropriate values for the healthy operation of the motor, both for vibration and temperature, following the logic defined for the alarm criteria: Healthy (green): the motor is in its normal operating condition. Alert (yellow): scheduling a preventive stop of the motor is recommended for detailed diagnostics. Critical (red): an immediate corrective maintenance job on the motor is recommended.

How do I configure alarm criteria for events?

Through the MFM software, on the asset screen, access the sensor data, click on "Tolerances". You can change the alert level and critical level values for vibration and temperature measurements.

How do I change measurement units from metric to imperial?

Through the configuration options of the “Measurement unit” app.

Is it possible to integrate WEG Motor Scan with other monitoring platforms?
This option is possible through contact with the sales team.
When installing a WEG Motor Scan, can I replace a vibration analysis on the motors at my factory with identification of anomalies in bearings, for instance?

The purpose of the WEG Motor Scan is the periodic monitoring and generation of the motor operating history The WEG Motor Scan® collects data such as temperature, three-axis vibration, running time, speed and other relevant motor information. This data can be automatically provided in the WEG Motion Fleet Management solution through the Gateway or App. Then the WEG Motor Specialist module uses Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms to make an advanced analysis of this data. Those advanced analysis algorithms follow and learn the operating patterns and deviations of the monitored electric motor, generating indicators of failure due to imbalance, misalignment, bearing (advanced failure) and external vibration. Additionally, it is possible to infer the motor load and power consumption. That learning and diagnostics process takes place without human interference, maximizing the delivery of value to the drive fleet maintenance and operation teams. The WEG team is continuously improving diagnostic tools, and new features are constantly being released. Stay posted!
