WEG announced the first phase of investments of approximately €4 million to expand the production capacity of low-voltage motors in the Lissone region, Italy.

These investments include the acquisition of an industrial building for the installation of a new 6,600 m² factory, located in Milan, 22 km from the current low-voltage motor factory of Cemp, a brand acquired by WEG in 2024. Scheduled to begin operations in the first half of 2026, the new facility will leverage synergies between the new structure and the Cemp factory, complementing the portfolio of explosion-proof motor products in Europe through WEG's factory in Portugal.

"This expansion represents a strategic step for WEG in Italy, allowing us to increase our production capacity, optimize processes, and strengthen synergies between our operations in the country. With this, we reinforce our commitment to providing innovative and high-quality solutions to our customers," emphasizes Rodrigo Fumo, Managing Director of Industrial Motors at WEG.

WEG began its operations in Italy in 2001 with a commercial branch in Milan. In 2022, the company expanded its presence in the country by acquiring the Motion Control business of the Italian company Gefran, located in Gerenzano. In 2024, WEG further strengthened its presence by acquiring the business of the Cemp brand, a company specialized in manufacturing special industrial electric motors for hazardous areas and brake motors. Currently, the company operates two factories and a commercial branch in Italy, employing approximately 320 employees.
