One of the leading distributors of electricity, natural gas, and clean energy in the United States, serving approximately 20 million people in the states of New York and Massachusetts, received in the first half of 2024 a WEG transformer with a power rating of 49.61/66.15/82.69 MVA and voltages of 115/15kV. This transformer will strengthen the region's infrastructure and support the increasing demand for energy.

Manufactured in Brazil, the equipment was transported from the coast of Santa Catarina to the Port of New York, followed by ground transportation to the Lake Colby Substation in Saranac Lake (NY). With the installation of this new transformer, the client will ensure greater efficiency and stability in energy distribution, providing an advanced technological solution to the challenges of the electrical sector.

The project's goal is to provide a more robust infrastructure to support the region's growing energy demand. The delivery of this transformer reinforces WEG's commitment through its global operations to contribute to the generation of clean and safe energy for all its thousands of customers.
