A machinery manufacturer in the metalworking industry, headquartered in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and operating internationally, adopted WEG’s online monitoring and asset management solution to increase operational reliability and prevent critical failures in its production line. The company specializes in developing equipment for rubber and leather processing.

The installation of WEGscan100 sensors took place in May 2024, at the customer’s facility in Rio Grande do Sul. The sensors were applied to a gearbox identified as a critical point for the continuous operation of the assembly line. This technology allows real-time asset monitoring, enabling early fault detection and contributing to the reduction of unplanned downtime.

For the customer, the project represents the implementation of a predictive maintenance approach for its equipment, providing greater production efficiency, reduced operational costs, and increased safety in maintenance planning. For WEG, this delivery strengthens the presence of its digital solutions in the metalworking sector, demonstrating the effectiveness of its monitoring systems in demanding industrial environments.

A key differentiator of the project was the customization of the solution, combining high-precision sensors with integration into asset management systems. This allowed the customer to take proactive action in the face of potential failures, making faster decisions and keeping operations running smoothly.

The use of WEGscan100 sensors reinforces WEG’s commitment to innovation and industrial efficiency, offering the market solutions that go beyond supplying products, adding intelligence and value to the production processes of its customers.
